What’s new
What changed in Heilsa each week, newest first. Most changes reach your phone by themselves, as an update inside the app, with nothing to download.
- Saying what is in your fridge during setup shows each food as you say it, and what Heilsa heard before you move on.
- Setup asks what you are eating for, and offers to connect Apple Health.
- Heilsa asks before anything goes to an AI service, and says who receives what. You can change your answer in the You tab, under Use AI.
- Delete your account from the You tab, under Account. Your kitchen goes too if nobody else is in it.
- Send feedback, Help, Privacy and Terms are in the You tab, and we reply to feedback at the address you give.
- A card on the Plan tab, once after setting up: you’re one of the first households, and Heilsa is free for yours through 2027.
- Recipes shared in from Instagram, TikTok and websites fail less often, and fewer come out with an ingredient listed twice.
- Setting up starts at your table: who sits down to dinner, then allergies and diets, then tonight’s dinner.
- An invite link lets in whoever opens it, whatever address they sign in with, Apple’s Hide My Email included. Whoever joins sits at the table of the person who invited them.
- Four notifications, each about a dinner: Free tonight?, Still to cook, Take it out tonight and Before you plan. They replace the three that came before.
- Binned sits beside Used up, so food that went in the bin is counted as wasted rather than eaten.
- Something you buy all the time, like milk, leaves the pantry once its old pack has had its days, and a dinner that needs it puts it back on the list.
- “Dinner’s done” guesses what is left of each food from how old its pack is.
- A dish kept beside a dinner that was then cleared is asked about the next day, so it can still be marked cooked.
- Share a recipe to Heilsa from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest or a website, and it reads it into a draft for you to check.
- Every recipe has a picture: take one, choose one, or let Heilsa draw it.
- The plan holds several recipes a day, each day under its own heading with a +.
- Leftovers go into the pantry, and the plan offers them for another night.
- Batch cooking: one dinner cooks for several nights, and the freezer keeps the ones more than two days away.
- A frozen pot comes out to thaw with one tap, and keeps for the 24 hours defrosted food does.
- “Running low?” on the shopping list learns what your household buys again and again, kitchen roll included, and asks before the shop that would come too late.
- The You tab is a calendar of what you ate at home, with a page for each day and what you are eating for measured every week.
- Apple Health: the plates you eat at home go in, and your weight comes back if you are losing or gaining weight.
- Past dinners are grouped by week, each with its photo.
- Every food in the pantry has its own drawing, and the pantry is a wall of labels.
- A food’s own sheet says how long it has left, and pantry search answers “Do we have…?”.
- Past dinners open from the plan’s history.
- Changes to a recipe you are editing are kept on the phone until you save them.
- Undo lasts six seconds everywhere, and swiping a row feels like Mail.
- Heilsa works with no signal. The pantry, the plan and the shopping list live on the phone, changes go when there is signal, and a phone can be away for a month.
