Heilsa

Switching from Mealime

Mealime closed on 21 October 2026. If it planned your week’s dinners and wrote your shopping list, Heilsa does both, starting from the food already in your kitchen.

First, where Heilsa is

Heilsa comes to the App Store in the UK and Switzerland in November, and only there, for now. If you are in the United States or anywhere else, it will not show up in your App Store yet.

What carries over

  • Dinners planned ahead, up to fourteen days, with nothing filled in for you.
  • A shopping list written from the plan, minus what is already at home.
  • Allergies and diets that every suggestion respects, for everyone at your table.
  • Cooking with the method in front of you and every amount scaled to who is eating.

What is different

  • It starts from your kitchen: one pantry the whole household shares, kept up by shopping and cooking rather than by typing.
  • What needs using first leads the dinner suggestions, so less goes in the bin.
  • Leftovers and batch cooking are part of the plan, and the freezer feeds the nights more than two days away.
  • Recipes come from anywhere: share a reel, a TikTok, a YouTube video or a page to Heilsa, or photograph a cookbook.
  • It works with no signal, and everyone in the household sees the same kitchen on their own phone.

Mealime’s recipes

Mealime’s closing notice says its recipes have moved to Meals Hub, in Albertsons Companies’ grocery apps. Heilsa cannot copy a Mealime plan across, but any recipe you can open as a page, a post or a video can be shared or pasted into Heilsa, which reads it into a recipe for you to check before saving. Heilsa also comes with a hundred recipes of its own.

Questions

Can I bring my Mealime plans or account across?
No. Heilsa has no connection with Mealime, and nothing moves across by itself. Setting up a kitchen takes a few minutes: who you cook for, your allergies and diets, and, on iOS 26, saying what is in your fridge.
Is Heilsa in the United States?
Not yet. Heilsa is sold in the UK and Swiss App Stores only, and it will not appear in an American one. If you live anywhere else, tell us where at heilsa.io/join and we will email you when it arrives.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Heilsa is free, and households that join before its paid plan arrives on 7 December 2026 keep it free through 2027. Nobody is charged unless someone in the household chooses the plan in the App Store.

Mealime is a trademark of its owner. Heilsa is not connected with Mealime or with Albertsons Companies.
